UX mag publication

My article on designing for Windows 8 can be found on uxmag.com – yay!

I focus on defining the current challenges in the Windows 8 ecosystem (learnability and lack of maturity) and how designers can make the best of a new environment. There are a few examples included in the article, and I hope that it’s useful for people who haven’t delved deep into app work.

I know I have some questions about the future of touch-first interfaces, particularly with hover states and touch patterns (swipe to select, tap to select, etc) that Windows (or whoever) have yet to set best practices for but for now, it looks like everyone is still trying to figure out the “how.”
